BLURB:
Ever and Damen have gone through countless lives and fought off the world’s darkest enemies so they could be together. But just when an everlasting future is finally within their reach, Damen is struck down by a curse—a dark spell separating him and Ever for eternity. Now sharing so much as a single touch could bring about Damen’s death…and send him plummeting into the Shadowland, an eternal abyss for lost souls. Desperate to break the curse and save Damen, Ever immerses her herself in magick. And in her quest, she gets help from an unexpected source...a surfer named Jude.

Although she and Jude have only just met, he feels startlingly familiar. Despite her fierce loyalty to Damen, Ever is drawn to Jude, a green-eyed golden boy with magical talents and a mysterious past. She’s always believed Damen to be her soulmate and one true love—and she still believes it to be true. But as Damen pulls away to save them from the darkness inhabiting his soul, Ever’s connection with Jude grows stronger—and tests her love for Damen like never before…

EXPECTATIONS: I really really loved the first book and then equally hated the second so going into the third one was 50/50 for me.

THE WORLD: From first glance it is our world. High school teenagers living everyday drama. But behind all that we have people that are actually immortal and have been around for many many years. We also have a shadowland which is this special place where everything is possible and where only few get to go.

CHARACTERS: In the first book I felt in love with Ever, she was this rather silent but knowing what she wants girl. She did not do drama. Unfortunately that changed really much in second book and now in third she kinda juggles between both. Basically Ever and Damon cannot touch or Damon dies. Knowing that Ever is in love with him kinda makes her whinny and all depressed. Which is very annoying. I really hate how teenager girls are always shown in a way that they are smart till the guy comes along and then they becomes incredibly dumb. This is the case here. Ever lost so much of her personality since she started this whole thing with Damon that I am not sure if I can really say anything about her. It is like she is flat and shallow and barely there. Damon on the other hand did not change for me, I hated him in first book, I hated him even more in second and I still hate him now. Just pathetic tool. And worst was when he suddenly took up the twins from Shadowland as his children and pulled it on Ever's shoulders too. Like dude how just how incredibly stupid are you. Oh and did I mention he is going through existential crisis? Yeah. Shoot me now.

ROMANCE: Ever and Damon boring dramatic love story. Booooo.

GOOD: I like that Ever is slowly starting to get on her own shoes. I wish Damon just bloody died and we would have our real Ever back.

BAD: I really really miss Riley!

OVERALL: It was okay but not good. I do own next books in the series so I will just roll with it but really as of now first book should have been a stand alone.

What do you think about SHADOWLAND?
